The Strawberry Sous Chef

Tonight is Annual Strawberry Shortcake Night.

Ever since I was a little kid, one night each summer, supper was an all you can eat feast of strawberry shortcake. Of course, mom made everything from scratch.

The tradition continues, and now that D lives with me, I put him to work hulling strawberries while I make shortcake. The household youngster requested home made Angel Food Crack (technically it's Angel food cake, but scratch made is so much better than that boxed crap we call it Crack. In fact, it's better than crack.)

Please note, the pink drink in front my handsome sous chef is rhubarb lemonade. It's his first time trying rhubarb.

He likes it!
